Toyota GT 86 – a front-engine S, which was created by engineers of Toyota and Subaru. It’s based on a modified platform of the Subaru Impreza, and as the only power unit it is offered 2-liter 4- cylinder boxer motor of Subaru “Toyota’s” with the system of injection D-4S.
In this configuration, Toyota engine GТ86 exactly develops 200 HP and maximum torque of 205 Nm. Working in tandem with 6-speed manual transmission, it propels car with weight of 1180 kg, from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 s. The dynamics of Toyota 86 GT with 6 – speed “automatic transmission” is a bit worse – for 8.2 s. At the same time the declared consumption in the combined cycle is 7,8 liters AI-98 for 100 km in for the mechanics and only 7,1 liters – for cars equipped with automatic transmission and Tacoma headlight bulb.
Toyota GT86 has a classic rear-wheel drive and the basic configuration already includes the limited-slip differential Torsen. As for the suspension there are “McPherson” front struts and behind them there is a double wishbone suspension. Another feature of the Toyota GT 86 is the weight distribution, which is close to ideal, 53:47 in favour of the front axle. The machine is equipped with ventilated disc brake; the diameter is 294 mm in front and 290 mm at the rear.
